About me

About me

Hey, I’m Anna and this is my travel blog. Where am I from? I have a Swiss passport but I grew up in different countries. They call me a 3rd Culture Kid, a person who moved a lot in their childhood and youth and was therefore exposed to many different cultures.

I was born in Ecuador, where I spent the first three years of my life, followed by two years in Haiti, five years in Switzerland and six years in Nepal. At the age of 16, I returned to Switzerland where I still live today. Since then I have lived in five different cities and undertook three long trips to Latin America. I have a degree in cultural and political science and several years working experience in development cooperation in East Africa.

Traveling for me is not just a hobby, but a lifestyle. I am fascinated by cultures and religions and I love meeting people from all over the world. Whenever possible I like to be outdoors, jogging along the Aare river in Bern, skiing in the Swiss Alps or surfing in Latin America.

This is where I write about the adventures and challenges in my life as a 3rd Culture Kid. Come join me on my journey and find out how I see the world.
